Despite a poor debate performance in Las Vegas by Democratic candidate Mike Bloomberg, he’s still riding high after spending $400 million in ads — and he’ll be doing just a little bit better with renowned actor and director Clint Eastwood on his side.
During an interview with the Wall Street Journal, the Hollywood legend and self-described libertarian endorsed Bloomberg’s candidacy, attacking the vicious political environment America finds herself in.
“The best thing we could do is just get Mike Bloomberg in there,” Eastwood said.
“The politics has gotten so ornery,” he says, adding that “certain things that Trump’s done” are good, but prefers that the president act “in a more genteel way, without tweeting and calling people names. I would personally like for him to not bring himself to that level.”

The Bloomberg campaign has been extremely quick to turnaround ads based on recent endorsements — and people are already bracing themselves for oodles of political ads talking about the endorsement of the “Dirty Harry” star.

Eastwood has praised Trump on numerous occasions, particularly for his lack of political correctness. In 2016, he opted for Trump over former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
“I’d have to go for Trump,” Eastwood said. “Cause Hillary’s declared that she’s gonna follow in Obama’s footsteps. There’s been just too much funny business on both sides of the aisle. She’s made a lot of dough out of being a politician.”
