Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, director of the World Health Organization has come under serious fire for his leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In fact, one organization launched a Change.org petition in hopes that he will either step down or be removed, listing off reasons like misleading the public or allowing communist China to claim low infection rates despite reports that it could be far worse than what they’re letting on.
Here’s the petition description:
Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has been an abject failure in leading the World Health Organization through the COVID-19 pandemic.
It’s time for him to be removed from his position of leadership.
On January 14, the WHO promoted the absolutely egregious claim that “no clear evidence of human-to-human transmission of the novel coronavirus” was found by Chinese authorities, downplaying one of the most infectious diseases in modern history.
This was only phase one in covering for China, where the outbreak began. Just in the last 24 hours, Arizona Sen. Martha McSally revealed that she is fed-up with WHO and China working together at the expense of other nations.
McSally said that the “WHO needs to stop covering for [China]. I think Dr. Tedros needs to step down. … it’s unconscionable what they have done here while we have people dying across the globe.”
And, despite downplaying COVID-19 for months, Dr. Tedros still had the gall to say that the “world was slow to react to the coronavirus.”
The WHO, under Dr. Tedros’ leadership, failed the world. People are infected or dead that shouldn’t be because the WHO promoted lies, covered-up China’s mess for far too long, and downplayed the entirety of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Tedros must step down. And while he’s at it, an apology is in order for the lives lost, people infected, and economies halted all around the world.
